I began my career with Covenant Health in 2001 at Parkwest Medical Center. Over the years as Covenant Health was growing so were my responsibilities in the Engineering Department. In 2008 I was given an opportunity to oversee the Engineering operations for Peninsula Behavioral Health, a Department of Parkwest Medical Center. In 2013 I became a Multi-Site Manager overseeing Engineering Departments in Parkwest Medical Center, Roane Medical Center, Fort Loudoun Medical Center and Peninsula Behavioral Health. Recently I also acquired Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System as part of my responsibilities.
When I first came to Covenant Health I did not know a lot about the Health industry as I had spent my previous work life mostly in Commercial Construction as an electrician. Shortly after my employment at Parkwest Medical Center I began to realize how much goes into a successful Health Care Facility. I saw that Covenant Health was in it for the right reason, for the long run and I wanted to be a part of that journey. I was very fortunate to go through the exciting process of the Parkwest Medical Center expansion in 2005, and also to be a part of moving Roane Medical Center in 2013 from its old location to the new state of the art facility that will for decades deliver care for the Roane community. Being in Engineering Department I see every square foot of our Facilities and every day my decision to be a part of this journey is validated as I see how well our patients are being taken care of. On the flip side, as a part of the Engineering department, we do not often have direct contact with patients. However we have great responsibility for providing a safe environment for all of our patients, visitors and staff. At the same time we must ensure that all of the features in the building and equipment are operational and functional. That is our contribution to the Patients First, Covenant Health pledge.
I have enjoyed the past 16 years working at Covenant Health and I am looking forward to the future.
